JOB DESCRIPTION
REPORTS TO: HS Head Coach & FMLA Board of Directors
WORK HOURS AND EXPECTATIONS:
On/off-campus responsibilities from 4:30 pm until 7:30 pm Monday through Friday. Coaching responsibilities may result in extended weekday, or weekend commitments. All coaches are employed on a seasonal basis and continued employment is based on annual performance reviews conducted by the HS Head Coach and FMLA Board of Directors.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Working closely with HS Head Coach, the Assistant Coach of Girls Lacrosse is responsible for initiating various aspects of the lacrosse program, such as program development, training, and coaching team members. The coach is required to abide by the rules and regulations established by FMLA.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree required;
- Possess and maintain a coaching philosophy that is in accordance with the mission of FMLA
- A strong commitment to the student-athlete concept;
- 3-5 years of Coaching or playing experience;
- Effective leadership, coaching and recruiting skills;
- Excellent communication skills with players, parents, and the athletic department;
- Possess a valid driver’s license with the ability to drive small school bus.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Encourage, train, and coach the participants of the Girls Lacrosse program (Grades 9-12);
- Coordinate the development and promotion of the Girls Lacrosse program (Grades 7-12) in conjunction with the mission of FMLA;
- Schedule and organize practice sessions;
- Schedule games in conjunction with the HS Head Coach;
- Represent FMLA and the Girls Lacrosse program in a
professional manner and within the bounds of good sportsmanship - Generate additional support of the program by running clinics & camps (Grades 1-8).
This is an exempt position that is paid a coaching stipend over the duration of the calendar year
